Successful Experiment

Yesterday was a relaxed half workday and today I spent most of my day watering, gathering ingredients, and preparing lunch and dinner. For dinner, I used a ton of lettuce that should have been picked ages ago, kale, broad beans, cucumber then cous cous, and lentils. In order to try to make the bitter greens taste better I billed them with 4 or 5 bouillion, crushed cardamom pods, and even a bit of turmeric and cumin in a bit of oil. (I learned just yesterday that turmeric is oil soluble.) It ended up being thoroughly enjoyed by all. Lunch was just zucchini sautéed with small tomatoes, mushrooms and garlic with could cous and lentils since one of us is gluten free.
Ended up at a pub with the two French people and two newcomers who arrived today. They speak Spanish and Italian and a little English. England won a game today (at 3 pm) so the pub was noisy for a while.

  1. Hi Charlie Bar!! So glad you are having all these wonderful experiences in life
on the farm and in France, and at the pub with England winning!! How special is that....... I have a lovely picture of you sitting on the huge rock that was next to
the creek, up the holler. You are just sitting there relaxing......with a day pack
behind you. I think it must have been taken the summer before you went down
    to Springer Mountain.
I am so very proud of you and so happy that you are doing exactly what you want
to do in life. I'm trying to remember that myself, instead of doing what everyone
else wants me to do. Enjoy all your coworkers and remember that you are completely equal in body, mind and spirit to them. Don't let anyone brow-beat
you into doing anything that doesn't feel right to you......the vegetables will get
picked and watered.........its not totally up to you and if a few perish, its the
way of Nature that all seeds don't survive. Just trying to say, follow your heart
and be in the moment. Your heart and your moment.
The breath is there and, more importantly, the incredible power that drives
our breath is inside of us. And somehow, inside the full moon and full stars
that we see above us at night. Remember to look up every day at the moon,
the trees, the birds and the wind. Sometimes, I like to do call and response
with the birds that call out to me.............Enjoy every moment, for in the blink
of an eye it will be over and you will be able to rest on the West side of the
ocean. I love you so much.........live, love, work hard and work on your tan!!!!!!
