This place is so picturesque and the smells here are bringing me all the way back (12 years) to life in Boonsboro. The smell of freshly cut grass, gardens, and the occasional whiff of manure. On Monday I will be helping with cleaning and preparing a place for renovations and there is a good chance that I will get to garden here which will be wonderful. I can't wait to get started. This will be a good break from all the buses and trains and hostels. Here I should be able to get good sleep consistently and do some good work in the country side.
I almost feel as if I'm in "The Secret Garden"... Not because it looks exactly like the place in the movie but because the same feelings arise here as when enjoying all the nature (second hand, I know) in the film. I did also read the book in case you're wondering. The sunset this evening was idyllic. Not because of the colors in the sky this time, but because of how the sunlight muted the greens and browns in the valley. It wasn't hazy, it just seemed like the light itself, since it was softened a little by a thin cloud, turned the rich colors into pastel shades like a painter adding white. The sight was absolutely fabulous.
Well, time to get ready for bed.
